High-Density Stainless Steel Shot 0.1mm-2.5mm For Effective Shot Blasting And Cleaning
Stainless steel shot is also known as conditioned stainless steel cut wire shot.
The production process for stainless steel shot involves:
Cutting stainless steel wire into short cylindrical pieces to create an angular cut-wire shape.
Rounding the cut edges and corners of the cylindrical pieces through a shot peening/shot blasting process. This is commonly known as "conditioning" or "passivation" which refers to creating a rounded morphology.
Classifying the rounded shot by sphericity grade. Grades G1, G2 and G3 are typically used, with G1 being the most spherical.
Further operations may include degassing and sizing to meet customers' requirements.
Internationally, the standardized English terminology used includes:
"Conditioned stainless steel cut wire shot"
"Passivated stainless steel cut wire shot"
Where "conditioned/passivated" describes the shot blasting/peening rounding process. "Stainless steel cut wire" indicates the raw material (stainless steel wire) and cutting process used to create the initial angular shape.
"Shot" refers to the final spherical particulate product.
a. Moderate hardness - Stainless steel shot has the right hardness to effectively blast surfaces without damaging them. Its pure material composition also provides consistency.
b. Improved durability - The rounded morphology lacks issues like pores or irregular shapes seen in cast steel shot, enhancing service life.
c. Cost-effectiveness - Stainless steel shot offers performance on par with imports but at a more affordable price. One kg replaces 17kg of sand or 100kg of glass beads. It also requires 3-4kg less than regular steel shot or 3kg less than aluminum/zinc shot to do the same work.
d. Smooth, rust-free surfaces - Blasting with stainless shot leaves a finish that is highly polished and corrosion-resistant. This eliminates needs for downstream processes like pickling, improving environmental profile.

Aluminum/zinc alloy finishing: It focuses on material luster without rust/discoloration.
Stainless steel/non-ferrous metal castings: Shot blasting leaves surfaces clean, uniform, rust-free and matte without need for downstream processes like cleaning/pickling.
Large/medium/small castings surface oxide removal: Ensures good cleanliness and required roughness for subsequent steps like processing and painting.
Steel plate pretreatment: Used to remove scale, rust and impurities from plate surfaces.
Machinery applications: Removes rust, welding slag, oxide scale to eliminate welding stresses, improve coating adhesion and enhance corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel plate cleaning: Effectiveness can be tailored for different plate materials by selecting shot size and particle size.
Steel structure part finishing: Suitable for profiles like H-beams, C-channels, angles to clean surfaces.
Pipeline anti-corrosion treatment: Increases protection and achieves targeted rust removal depth.
Shot peening intensification: Strengthens critical components such as springs, gears, transmissions, bearings, camshafts and more.
