Strong Impact Resistance And Stable Performance Rounded Low Carbon Steel Wire Shot Cutting
Grinding pellets, also known as high manganese steel pellets, are forged products. They are created by cutting high-manganese steel wire into cylinders at high speed and then rounding them with lead angles. These pellets exhibit no voids, cracks, or breakage. Throughout their service life cycle, they gradually decrease in size until they reach 3/10 of the original particles, at which point they are removed by the dust extraction system or separation equipment of the shot blasting machine.
Grinding shot, on the other hand, is a novel type of steel wire shot. It involves cutting the steel wire into cylindrical shapes with consistent length and diameter, and then grinding them to remove edges and corners, resulting in spherical ball bodies. This product combines the advantages of both cast steel shot and steel wire cut shot. It offers the following benefits: uniform polishing, no damage to the workpiece, high resistance to breakage, excellent wear resistance, and a long service life even after repeated polishing. Grinding steel shot is presently the mainstream metal abrasive material for finishing automobile and motorcycle accessories.
a. Low carbon steel shot is characterized by its bainite structure, which is achieved through isothermal transformation. This bainite structure provides exceptional impact resistance and ensures stable performance, setting it apart from other types of steel shot.
b. The production of low-carbon steel shot involves using high-quality, low-carbon, low-residue, low-phosphorus, and low-sulfur new scrap steel. It does not undergo heat treatment, which helps maintain the hardness of the steel shot at the desired level. This distinguishes it from steel shot that requires heat treatment for hardness adjustment.
c. The organizational structure of low carbon steel shot contributes to its high toughness, making it less prone to breakage. It can withstand approximately 3,600 repeated cycles, resulting in over 20% reduction in consumption compared to high-quality high carbon steel shot. This advantage in durability sets it apart from high carbon steel shot.
d. Low carbon steel shots retain their round shape, ensuring smooth contact between the shot blasting equipment and the steel plate being treated. In contrast, high carbon steel shots are more prone to breakage and can produce angular steel shots. This angular shape increases wear on the shot blasting head and lining, reducing the efficiency and service life of the shot blasting machine. The maintenance cost resulting from equipment wear caused by low carbon steel shot is at least 15% lower than that caused by high carbon steel shot. This significant reduction in maintenance costs distinguishes low carbon steel shot as a more cost-effective option.
